What I do
When an organization brings me in, I show up curious — about the people, the processes, the money, and the barriers nobody's written down. I stay long enough to actually understand them. Most of my work falls into six areas:
Strategic Planning
A plan built in a conference room dies in a conference room. Mine are built on site, with your team — and measured against outcomes we define together.
Grants & Funding
Grant strategy and writing for the programs that fund this work. Recently: a $750,000 capacity grant — written, funded, and built into an implementation plan.
Disaster Resilience & Response
After-action reviews, disaster plans your team will actually open in a crisis, tabletop exercises, and response assets that hold up under real stress.
Implementation Support
The plan is the starting line. I stay on as a thought partner — building the tools, working the jams, and fixing what isn't getting results until it does.
Feeding America Network Planning
I helped design the Product Sourcing Plan and Service Requirements processes the network uses today. I'll facilitate your SAA, ORP, or PSP — and leave your operation stronger than compliance requires.
Speaking & Facilitation
Keynotes, board retreats, trainings, and working sessions. Twenty years as an educator; if a room needs energizing, aligning, or unsticking, that's my favorite work.

How I work
I show up.
Not at kickoff and delivery — in the middle, on site, where the real information lives.
I ask a lot of questions.
Why the volunteers park where they park. Why that workaround exists. Why the org chart says one thing and the loading dock says another. The strategy is hiding in the answers.
I tell you the truth.
Kindly, with some humor, but you'll always get what I actually think. You're not paying me to agree with you.
I build for results, not binders.
Before we start, we define where you're going and how we'll know you got there. The plan gets measured against that — not against how nice it looks. Although, they do like nice.
I stay until it works.
Plans meet reality; reality wins some rounds. When something isn't getting results, we fix the plan or change the system. That's not failure — that's the job.
